I
started fishing twenty-four years ago for fun and got more
and more into it until I was fishing three or four times a
week. My full time job was waiting tables in Beverly Hills
at night, which averaged 25-30 hours per week and left all of my days
free.
My
fishing was getting out of hand and there were some
months where the rent had to be paid late because I had fished
a little too much. I eventually found a second job that was
40 hours per week and only paid about half of what my restaurant job
paid but I was devoted to it -- I was a sales rep for a fishing
tackle distributor and I had to visit every tackle store
from LA to Santa Barbara and talk about fishing.
Heaven to me!!
I
occasionally had to go on promotional multi-day tuna trips
into Mexican waters and most of the money I was making from
my second job was being spent on wholesale fishing tackle.
I
had everything needed to start a charter fishing business
but the boat. So it was a dream come true when I began working
as a fisherman in Key West.
I
was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. but never lived there. My father was in
the army so I moved a lot as a kid. I lived in Korea and Italy.
By the time I graduated I'd been to twelve different schools. I have
a degree in geology and I speak Italian and some Spanish.
I've
lived in Key West for about sixteen years now and I have
two beautiful daughters, Ginger and Katie. The oldest was born in
Clearwater, Fl. and the youngest in Key West so I've been blessed
with a "conch" and a "cracker".
